Matt Webb and Jerry Gray announce the formation of Genesis Timber. The new company began business operations on January 1, 2015.
With plans for Gary Webb’s retirement from Greenville Timber Corporation at the end of 2014, the idea for a new timber company began to form between Matt Webb, president of Greenville Timber Corporation, and Jerry Gray, owner of Gray Logging, LLC. In the months that would follow, Genesis Timber began to take shape. Gary’s official retirement on December 31, 2014, made way for Jerry Gray to assume ownership with Matt on January 1, 2015. Jerry Gray’s logging company, Gray Logging, LLC, will continue to operate in its full capacity under Jerry’s leadership.
Even though they are new business partners. Matt and Jerry have over 50 years of experience in the timber industry. Along with his management skills, Matt brings to the new company his honesty and likeable personality that enables him to easily meet the public and landowners. Jerry, an adept manager as well, contributes his invaluable knowledge and experience as a logger, making the decision-making process for Genesis Timber a well-rounded one. With these two men at the helm, Genesis Timber has the knowledge, experience and expertise to best serve landowners with the most competitive prices and quality logging practices in the area. Matt and Jerry are supported by competent and dedicated team members Wally Ellis, Todd Witt, Joshua Light, Karen Sapp, Megan Kirkland and Jeanne Webb.
Genesis Timber will continue its legacy of operating with integrity while striving for customer satisfaction. As a goal-oriented organization, it will continually strive to lead the timber industry with innovative ideas and cutting-edge methods as a responsible member of the business community.
