Matt Webb, President

Matthew "Matt" G. Webb was born in Valdosta, Georgia, and raised in both Valdosta, Georgia and Madison, Florida. He has over 17 years of experience managing timber operations in Madison County. After attending North Florida Community College, Troy State University and Valdosta State University, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Resources and Conservation from The University of Florida in 2000. Matt is currently a registered forester in Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina and Alabama. Since 2000, Matt has worked for Greenville Timber Corporation, now Genesis Timber, becoming president in 2009. He is also the owner of Shalom Farms, LLC in Madison.

A resident of Madison with his wife JerriAnn, daughter Jael and son Garrison, Matt is active in both community and industry organizations. Matt has been involved with the Madison County chapter of the United Way since 2007 and served as chairman in 2008. That same year, he was awarded the Top 40 Under 40 Leadership Award by the Florida Forestry Association and joined the board of the Florida Forestry Association, where he currently works with Florida legislators to promote the interests of Florida’s timber industry. In 2007, Matt was selected as one of 30 participants for the prestigious Wedgworth Leadership Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources at The University of Florida. The program consisted of a two-year commitment in which Matt traveled extensively throughout the United States and Southeast Asia to continue developing the knowledge and skills needed to be an effective leader in the agricultural industry.

Matt is currently the President for the Wedgworth Alumni Association. He is a founding member of the James Madison Preparatory High School, which was established in Madison in 2012. Matt is also a member of the American Tree Farm System and a member of the Stewardship program. Matt and JerriAnn attend Anchor Faith church in Valdosta, GA.
